« Baghdad night with Azhar Kubba»
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Mutawa, a member of the Board of Trustees, presented the Foundation’s shield to the artist Azhar Kabbah and also thanked the artist Taha Gharib and the band members for their ancient and original art.
Azhar Kubba began his first study of music in Baghdad at the age of six, and he was a student at the hands of experts in the dynasty instrument at the School of Music and Ballet. Musical Studies in 1986, he participated as a santour player with the Iraqi Symphony Orchestra, and in 2011 he founded the Iraqi Taqasim Ensemble for Jalghi al-Baghdadi in the Emirates to spread the Iraqi musical heritage.
The Iraqi maqam is one of the ancient Arab musical arts, and the Iraqi maqam differs from naming it in oriental music. The designation of the maqam in oriental music indicates the stairs of the seven musical notes, and the Iraqi maqam denotes the style of performance and musical performance.
